Co-Founders, Leah(she/her) and Marisa(she/her), have been best friends for almost seven years. They met while working at a horrible NYC restaurant (they both still have night sweats about it) where they spent their shifts simultaneously giving outstanding table service and dreaming up stories together. Those dreams eventually led to a collaboration with Fuzz on the Lens Productions to bring their web series, Roommates, to life. After positive feedback and a satisfying taste of production, they began writing more scripts and dreaming of bringing them to fruition.
Marisa and Leah realized they were seeing something in their stories that wasn't happening much in other work: LGBTQIA+ main characters whose objective was not coming out or overcoming a queer-specific struggle. Although more of these types of stories are finally coming out (get it?), it's not at an ideal rate. LBP's goal is to tell these types of stories to the masses as well as always maintain a LGBTQIA+ majority crew.
Currently, Leah and Marisa are hard at work to produce their short film, When It Pays. For more info on the story visit the When It Pays tab above.
